Talpa ValleyHere at Happy Goat Productions, we love animals, children, apples, healthy soil, air, and water, and the rest of the planet. We primarily raise dairy goats for milk production, but also chickens, ducks, geese, and native turkeys, in addition to various dogs, cats, a rescue mustang, and other critters that come along. These feed and weed and eat our gardens, fields, and orchard, by means of which we feed ourselves, our dairy customers, and our friends and neighbors.

goat grazingOur goats graze on organic pasture, with local alfalfa and clover hay supplemented in the winter. They are treated only with love, medicinal herbs, and mineral supplements, as well as lots of space, walks, play, and a variety of wild plants (sage, piņon, willows, wild roses, fruit tree and other prunings, and all the weeds we can find). This keeps them healthy and without any need for antibiotics or other biomedical drugs. Our emphasis on free-range grazing whenever possible makes for happy healthy animals who produce milk of the highest quality. Taste the difference and come by for a visit to see for yourself!

We only share milk that is less than 24 hours old. Moreover, we do not have a billy goat on the farm, because his presence would taint the milk. Hence our products do not taste “goaty” (a sign of improper sanitary practices, long storage, wrong feed, too many goats in too little space, or billy goats nearby).

fall orchard with geeseRaw milk and pasteurized milk both have their own risks and benefits, as do small family farms versus corporate factory-sized operations. At Happy Goat Productions, we personally believe that the benefits of our way of farming outweigh by far the risks associated in some circles with the consumption of raw milk; otherwise we wouldn’t do what we do and eat what we eat. We encourage you to make your own informed and conscious decisions about your choice of food, on the basis of information on where your food comes from, how it was produced and processed before reaching you, and your ethical and moral standards regarding the treatment of animals, plants, and the planet.

If your visit to this website or to our farm has made you more conscious in your choice of food and encouraged you to start growing and raising your own,, we have reached our goals:
