Course Outline
In this advanced training course, Sabine Wilms and Leo Lok show you in four units how to support your pregnant patients from conception to delivery, within the paradigm of traditional Chinese medicine:
Unit 1
After introducing you to our sources and the historical context, we discuss the physiology and pathology of pregnancy in general terms, as well as ethics and safety of treatment.
Unit 2
Here, we cover the first two months of pregnancy and then zoom in on the key turning point of the third month and the concept of “fetal education” 胎教.
Unit 3
This unit teaches you the physiology and pathology of the second and third trimesters of pregnancy from the traditional Chinese perspective.
Unit 4
We conclude the course by looking at miscellanecous conditions of pregnancy, like nausea and spotting. Two weeks later, we offer a final review.
